China Daily: Zhang Haidi visits winter Paralympic athletes

Zhang Haidi, chairwoman of China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), visited the Paralympic teams and Hebei provincial team in Zhangjiangkou on Dec 26.

Zhang Haidi visited Zhangjiakou Chongli Fulong Ski Resort and learned about its accessibility facilities. She watched the Paralympic project videos, listened to the team training report, and spoke to the players.

She inquired in detail regarding the life and training of blind athlete Chang Qingke, alpine skiing athlete Joseph Schwartz, snowboarder Geng Yanhong and ten-year-old snowboarder Wang Yingnan, and encouraged all athletes to train hard and strive to be even better. She asked the staff to take good care of the disabled athletes, and create a better environment for athletes to prepare for the Paralympic Games.

The athletes, coaches and staff present said that they must live up to the hopes of Zhang. They will work harder and train in a down-to-earth manner and conscientiously do their best while striving for China’s glory.
