The centennial of Rehabilitation International (RI) officially got underway on May 21, 2023, at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent a congratulatory message about the RI Centennial Celebration.
He said that for one hundred years and counting, RI has been at the vanguard of collective efforts to promote the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities worldwide, and its determined engagement and tireless advocacy inspire all people.
He expressed his hope to deepen the collaboration with the RI in the years ahead and together shape a just and inclusive future for everyone in the world.

I am pleased to congratulate Rehabilitation International on the occasion of its centenary.
For one hundred years and counting, Rehabilitation International has been at the vanguard of collective efforts to promote the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities worldwide. Your determined engagement and tireless advocacy inspire us all.
The United Nations shares your commitment to realize a more equitable, accessible, and sustainable world for more than one billion women, men, and children with disabilities. I look forward to deepening our collaboration in the years ahead and together shaping a just and inclusive future for everyone, everywhere.
