Disabled couple overcome daily obstacles with love and trust

Xiong Jin’gen,74, hearing-impaired, has been married with Ye Wenjuan, 67, who suffers inability to move caused by poliomyelitis, for 37 years.

Despite of physical disabilities, the couple makes a great team to get over daily obstacles, Xiong is responsible for errands like cooking and doing the laundry while Ye fixes all problems concerning communication. Complementary to each other, the couple has built deep understanding and trust.

The couple’s biggest dream is to hold a ceremony to celebrate their 50th anniversary of marriage, as Ye says, “it is such a bliss and fortune that we can be a family.”
