The executive committee of Rehabilitation International (RI) held a virtual meeting on Aug. 31, 2022. Zhang Haidi, president of RI and chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), addressed the event.
As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of RI, Zhang began her speech by expressing her wish for valuable comments and suggestions from committee members on celebrating the centenary, despite the half-year postponement of celebrations due to travel restrictions and quarantine measures in place for the pandemic.
As executive president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Zhang expressed her gratitude to her colleagues and friends at RI for their contributions to the Games and the global development of para sports.
She shared the progress made during the construction of the University of Rehabilitation Sciences in China, and invited the committee members to visit the university and witness the seven years’ hard work as part of the mission to bring more benefits to people with disabilities.
The meeting was also an opportunity for committee members to discuss the organization’s finances, funds and collaborative projects.
