Zhang Haidi meets Japanese ambassador to China

At the invitation of Japanese ambassador to China, Tarumi Hideo, Zhang Haidi, president of Rehabilitation International, executive president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, recently attended an exchange event with the representatives of Chinese athletes who had taken part in the Tokyo Paralympic Games. The event, which took place at the Japanese Embassy in Beijing, was held to celebrate the excellent performance of the Chinese Paralympic delegation.

Zhang stated she appreciated the efforts made by the Japanese government and the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the success of the Tokyo Paralympic Games and thanked them for the considerate service they provided to the Chinese athletes during the Games.

She also said that China and Japan had conducted fruitful cooperation in developing programs for people with disabilities. She hoped that the two sides can continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in rehabilitation, culture, and arts, including sports for people with disabilities, and further promote the common development of programs for people with disabilities in both countries.

Zhang welcomed the Japanese Paralympic delegation to China to participate in the Beijing Paralympic Winter Games.

Tarumi Hideo thanked China for sending a strong delegation to the Tokyo Paralympic Games and congratulated the Chinese Paralympic delegation on their excellent performance.

He also sent a letter from Junichi Kawai, president of the Japanese Paralympic Committee, to Zhang, saying that Kawai was very much looking forward to the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games and would personally lead the delegation to participate in the Games.

Chinese athletes participating in the Tokyo Paralympic Games shared their feelings about the Games with the Japanese ambassador.
